What is DEACCELERATE?

Introduction:

DEACCELERATE is a parody aimed to take fun at the recent explosion of AI (Artificial Intelligence) dominance on Solana. You can think of it as the antithesis of all AI related coins, something to get behind and start a movement. All of the larps, agent launchpads, and vaporware have had mindshare dominance for far too long; it is now time for a change. No, the Solana ecosystem will not crack AGI, no, the Solana ecosystem will not be a pioneer in anything Quantum related, and no, you are not an "angel investor" nor changing the world by sitting at your PC on Discord or Telegram for 20 hours a day investing in smoke and mirrors. How many more agent launchpads, repackaged LLM wrappers, and "tech" that we all have to go through until we have had enough? Is it not enough already? Face the reality, you nor this ecosystem will not "Accelerate" shit. It is time to bring a shift to Solana, something refreshing, something to go against the grain. This is your chance anon; it is time to DEACCELERATE (de/acc) and start something new.

A Deeper Dive: The Argument /srs

This argument only covers one topic out of a spawn of issues that have come with "AI" or "tech" coins on Solana. We want to give our two cents on the claim that crypto in itself will help break and facilitate AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) with (Open Source Software) OSS. We do believe that OSS and crypto will facilitate and contribute to AGI but it will be very miniscule compared to what companies like Meta, OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and DeepSeek are doing. To make this more digestible we will be using bullet points from here on out for the argument.

The Role of Crypto and OSS in Facilitating AGI

  • Incentivizing Collaboration - Crypto can help incentivize participation in open-source projects gathering better contribution

  • Decentralized Data Contributions - With the integration of crypto, it could lead to data being free range - essentially fair to use for better data training

  • Open Access - OSS combined with crypto ensures AGI developments are not monopolized by corporations or governments - this can lead to more experimentation = unrestricted = edgy agents

Why Crypto and OSS Will Play a Miniscule Role

  • Compute Limitations - Training AGI requires massive computational resources, far beyond the scope of what most decentralized networks can provide. Companies like OpenAI and Google invest in supercomputing infrastructure to train state of the art models. Crypto projects, even with tokenized incentives, cannot compete at this scale. For reference, at the time of writing this, ai16z the biggest "AI tech" coin on Solana is sitting at 1.3B. However, it only has 2 million in liquidity. That is in funding versus 2 million dollars if the ai16z team were able to extract all of the liquidity. Who would you bet your money on?

  • Limited Data Diversity - The quality and diversity of such data may not match what big companies can acquire through partnerships, proprietary sources, or their existing ecosystems (e.g., Google’s search engine, Meta’s social media platforms)

  • Lack of Cohesive Direction - Open source initiatives often lack the centralized direction necessary for tackling complex, interdisciplinary challenges like AGI. Then you throw in crypto into the mix people often tend to care about the price rather than the product in itself.

  • Security and Ethical Concerns - Having OSS coupled with AGI can get very dirty along the line. All it takes is for one threat actor or disgruntled team member to do a git push to fuck everything up. Big companies, despite their flaws, often have the resources and motivation to implement safety measures and comply with regulations, AS THEY CAN GET SUED.

  • Regulatory Pressures are Overstated - The argument that companies are heavily regulated which will in turn slow down acceleration is very overexaggerated. There is something called competition, and competition between major firms incentivizes them to push boundaries despite potential risks. Another workaround that actual companies do is corporate lobbying. With this, they can bypass any regulatory measures in place and bend it towards their will. Welcome to the American Government. To add one more thing, companies might face pressure to limit public-facing AGI capabilities, but they can still develop internal, private AGI models for their own use. Essentially tuning down models.

  • Better Scaling - With a bigger bankroll and connections these companies are able to scale their operation at a whims notice. They are better positioned and are better able to experiment with scaling.

Conclusion:

OSS projects backed by Crypto will not be competing with these companies on a space race to AGI like many people think, but it will be complimenting what big tech companies will develop later down the line. These techcoins essentially will just be filling in niches and democratizing access at best. The big companies will do the heavy lifting, and if all the stars align, the AI tech coins could possibly make already existing tech more digestible and accessible for everyone. But does that mean that these techcoins should be at a billion or several hundred million in marketcap? Personally, we don't think so but that is up for you to decide. TLDR: Big companies do the massive breakthroughs, not memecoins.
